  1. This kind of awards are needed in S/land, it will encourage people who make their living in lawyering and also lawyers as general.

The president of S/land is keen to invest and encourage the judiciary but though I don't know the reason, people who are involved in the judiciary are some how slow by developing this sector. The president announced and held a national conference aimed at restructuring and reforming of the Judiciary independence but still though there are more university graduates who are recruited as Judges and as Deputy Attorneys the system is the same, financially, administratively and legally the only law that is used are old Somalia substantive and procedural laws whether they are criminal or Civil laws, are we waiting the politicians or UNDP to do the amending while we are sitting and shooting the breeze, hold on, you may say we don't have the authority, but keep in mind you have the pen and paper that you can bush and enforce your healthy ideas. The change that we want is not quick but is gradual which we base a solid evidence for the current the future needs of the judiciary, we need a judge and a Prosecutor that doesn't come by class or tribe but by skill and open competition we need Legal Unions which are accountable and transparent who can ask and answer the social justice. The change that we need is full Judiciary independence.
